With participants from more than 100 countries, this biennial prize is one of the world’s most keenly sought after and prestigious. At CA$20,000 it is also the richest for an individual poem.
The first Montreal prize in 2011 was won by Aussie poet Mark Tredinnick. His winning poem ‘Walking Underwater’ is the title poem of a recent PSP collection. You can buy it and recent collections from both John Foulcher and Anthony Lawrence at the PSP on line bookshop.
